
Seoul, July 9th 2012-Representatives of the Scout Association of Japan (SAJ) took the opportunity to meet with Hon. Chung Ui Hwa, President of World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in Seoul. They reported to Hon. Chung Ui Hwa about some of the discussions related to the next WSPU General Assembly, which took place during the general assembly of the Japan Scout Parliamentary Association (JSPA) on Wednesday, July 4th 2012. Additionally, they shared some tentative plan about the preparation for the next WSPU GA such as the planned date, venue, agenda etc.
According to their information, the next WSPU GA will be held in or around Tokyo in early November 2013 and the GA organizers added that the event will be formal but simple, in order to take into consideration the Japanese economy which was affected by the earthquake last year.
Hon. Chung Ui Hwa was happy to receive this update regarding the upcoming GA and emphasized that one of the important values of the Scout Movement is volunteering and he therefore encouraged Japanese Scouts and Leaders to join in the preparations of the WSPU GA so that all will go as smoothly as possible. Hon. Chung also added that, he and the WSPU Secretariat, are eager to help and support them for the success of the next GA,
During their stay, the representatives of the Scout Association of Japan (SAJ) will visit the Korea Scout Association and Korea Scout Foundation in order to conduct meetings regarding existing co- operation and partnerships.
