Costa Rican Guides and Scouts Association distinguishes itself by being declared a "Meritorious Institution"

In recognition of all the social work "in educating children and teenagers, teaching them the value of life, of life outdoors and on services rendered to the community",
the Guides and Scouts Association of Costa Rica was awarded the highest governmental distinction that can be given to an Institution, by being declared a "Meritorious Institution" by the Costa Rican government on 1st September.

This recognition is of course a wonderful social and political acknowledgement of the work of the Costa Rican National Scout Association, the Scout Movement,
it's non-formal education and values in educating young people to be responsible citizens, aware of the value of life and their community.

Their example will certainly help fellow parliamentarians from other countries understand the usdfulness of Scouting in preparing young people to become responsible citizens and how Scouting can help in solving current youth problems.
